A night here allowed them to explore and get ready for their next leg toward the Isle of Skye.
Isle of Skye: Coral Beach and Sligachan Bridge
Arriving at the Isle of Skye, Ian and Amanda were greeted by some of Scotland’s most stunning natural landscapes.
They visited the beautiful Coral Beach, with its unique white sands and turquoise waters, and later drove to the iconic Sligachan Bridge.
According to local legend, the waters under the bridge have magical properties, so, naturally, they took a quick splash—anything to add a bit of magic to the trip!
Ian and Amanda visited the Fairy Pools. It is a must visit.
The Kelpies and Falkirk Wheel
Leaving the Isle of Skye, the journey continued with two must-see Scottish landmarks: the Kelpies and the Falkirk Wheel. The Kelpies, towering sculptures of horse heads, were a unique sight against the Scottish sky.
Nearby, the Falkirk Wheel, a rotating boat lift connecting two canals, was another jaw-dropping piece of engineering. Ian and Amanda enjoyed a peaceful afternoon exploring the surrounding area.
Cruising Down to the Angel of the North
On their way south, Ian and Amanda stopped at the iconic Angel of the North. This massive steel sculpture is hard to miss and even more impressive up close! They have snapped some great photos and enjoyed a few quiet moments admiring the view.
A Coastal Stop in Whitby
As part of their campervan Scotland route, Ian and Amanda made a stop in Whitby, a seaside town with historic charm. They explored the town’s winding streets, sampled some local seafood, and climbed the famous 199 steps to the abbey, enjoying the sea breeze before heading on.
Final Stop: York
Ending their campervan tour of Scotland in York was a perfect finale to an unforgettable adventure. York’s cobbled streets, Gothic architecture, and lively atmosphere provided the perfect contrast to the rugged Scottish landscapes they’d grown to love.
